Meanwhile, the now-vampire Axel reunites with Doc and they are on a mission to find Vanessa. Dylan escapes and runs to Julius. Vanessa then turns Julius back into a human. Vanessa, however, fails to cure Dylan, who burns up and turns to ash after being exposed to sunlight. Her screams of grief awaken an ancient, sleeping vampire. While on an adventure to unlock the Elder’s mystery, Vanessa meets her sister Scarlett Harker. Vanessa is kidnapped and taken by Dr. Harrison, while Dmitri hunts Scarlett and the group to recover the key to the Elder’s crypt. Scarlett meets their mother at Crooked Falls and they race Dmitri to the Elder’s crypt. Under Dmitri’s coercion, Abigail Van Helsing opens the crypt and frees the Elder.
